At Summit Tourist Agency, we are excited to begin the 2025 winter season with breathtaking Jeep tours through Durmitor National Park and Tara Canyon. Our first guests of the season embarked on a scenic Jeep tour, guided by our experienced local guide, Milinko. The journey took us deep into Durmitor National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where towering snow-capped peaks, dense pine forests, and frozen rivers painted a truly spectacular winter scene.
One of the highlights of the tour was Tara Canyon, the second-deepest canyon in the world, often referred to as the “Tear of Europe” due to its crystal-clear waters. In winter, the canyon transforms into an awe-inspiring masterpiece of nature, with mist rising from the river, frost-covered cliffs, and untouched snowy landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see. Our guests had the chance to experience several panoramic viewpoints, where they could admire the canyon’s sheer depth and beauty.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the tour was reaching the deepest point of Tara Canyon, where the canyon walls tower an incredible 1,300 meters above the river below. Standing there, surrounded by majestic cliffs and the absolute silence of winter, was a truly humbling experience. Our guests took some time to walk around, take photos, and fully immerse themselves in the stunning landscape.
Along the way, we stopped at several breathtaking vantage points, where the views of snow-covered Durmitor peaks and the icy-blue Tara River were simply mesmerizing. Even in the heart of winter, the raw beauty of Montenegro’s most famous canyon leaves an unforgettable impression.
