At the bottom of the mountain Durmitor, one of the main natural and ecological attractions in Montenegro as well as in Europe, is the river Tara widely known as ”Tear of Europe”. Tara river canyon or Tara River Gorge represents a world-protected heritage (proclaimed by UNESCO). Given the depth and length of its canyon, as well as all its other characteristic, river Tara ranks first in Europe and second in the world after Colorado canyon in the United States .
Unpredictable temperament, emerald green color, rugged and steep banks, large hydropower and various underwater obstacles… Tara is the biggest challenge for fans of rafting. Rafting at the Tara River Canyon is one of the most interesting and exciting experiences to anyone who has at least once experienced it; it stays in your memory forever. Feel the magic of untouched nature, unique landscapes, speed which is changing all the time. As a hydrological and biological phenomenon, Tara is also one of Europe’s last remaining unpolluted rivers, allowing to drink from it freely as they descend its rapids…
We start the all rafting tours outside Summit office. We have organised transfer to Tara bridge where the rafters give you all the needed equipment (life west, helmet, rain jacket, a waterproof bag to put your phone or camera inside it and neoprene suit and shoes). When you get all the needed equipment you start the tour. The boats are made for 9 peoples and there is a guide in each boat.
No Experience Necessary for Rafting Tour!
You will get Pre-trip safety instruction from the Guide before the rafting. A quick lesson in the river including jumping in and pulling out raft mates and appropriate safety gear. You don’t need experience for the Rafting, just follow the instructions from the Guide.
The half day rafting tour lasts approximately 2-3 hours (depending of the level of water) with stops and 14 km long distance. The first stop is next to a big waterfall Ljutica and the other breaks are at bays so you can swim in Tara river. After passing the first fifteen kilometers of the canyon, where the half day trip finishes, the guides take you to Tara bridge again and there you have a restaurant-organized lunch. After the lunch, you have some free time to see the area from the bridge and to take more pictures. Then, by organized transfer you come back to Žabljak, around 14 o'clock.
Departure from the Summit office. You’ll have a comfortable and safe ride through the attractive and challenging landscapes of Zabljak to the point of departure for rafting tours. Attractive landscapes provide opportunities for viewing and photographing the natural beauty.

Rafting through the most attractive areas of Tara, with adrenaline adventure through the rapids, cascades and enjoying the peaceful flow of the river . Stopping at the next most buoyant source in Europe ( 5000 liters per second) for photography and sightseeing. Proceeding with the rafting. Stopping for photo and swimming next to the authentic bridge to Tara. Rafting to the point of disembarkation ( Zugica luka ).
End of rafting and back to Reastaurant Lunch – Domestic Lamb or Fish with seasonal salad or Grilled vegetables Free time – to look around the bridge, photo activities. Zipline (Optional) – not included in the price, but you will get discount 14.00

Canyon Tara is one of the deepest gorges in Europa with a depth of appr 1.300 meters! Forty kilometers of rafting through most attractive part of the Tara canyon for about 5 hours. Lunch is provided also and it will be served in the nature like a picnic.
